The flow forming process maintains the integrity of the design, while also improving the grain-structure of the aluminum, creating a stronger, lighter, and considerably thinner forged-like rim barrel. Flow forming is the response to our market’s demand for lightweight wheels that are more durable and enhance the overall vehicle driving experience.
Light in tone with brilliant metallic depth, the VFS-1 is available in Silver Metallic, one of two standard finishes. A machined Vossen VF Series cap blends seamlessly into the VFS-1’s styling and finish.
Lustrously dark in tone and elegantly revealing its lines, the VFS-1 is available in Matte Graphite, one of two standard finishes. A machined Vossen VF Series cap blends seamlessly into the VFS-1’s styling and finish.
A cast wheel is mounted to the flow forming drum and heat is applied.
Hydraulic rollers stretch the wheel by applying pressure to to the barrel.
The wheel’s material is stretched and compressed to achieve the desired width.
Stretching the barrel material improves the grain structure of the aluminum, making a stronger and lighter barrel, similar to a forged wheel.
